BEHIND THE WALL

A resident artist of Fire Station Creative, this is Crombie’s first solo exhibition and showcases her work of the past 12 months.

The exhibition, Behind the Wall, was developed to sustain her own sense of well-being. “I see it as a kind of meditation” says the artist. The large, colourful artworks take the viewer on a journey through the artist’s mind into abstract garden mazes, tunnels and portals. Stand before any of these epic paintings and you’ll soon feel that you’re dissolving into a blissful, imaginary landscape. She says, “Only when I finish a painting do I notice that the colours and shapes are directly connected to memories from my own life experience. These expressions come to me unconsciously and I just go with what feels right at the time.”

The exhibition will be open to the public from September 4th until November 3rd.
