Kevin Jordan & The Shuffle Kings

Kevin Jordan & The Shuffle Kings are a Scottish blues band led by harmonica player Kevin Jordan, bringing together traditional blues, West Coast and Texas-style shuffle, swing and good-time blues into an energetic live show.

Kevin Jordan has been a familiar name on the Scottish blues scene for many years. He began playing harmonica at the age of 12 and quickly developed a deep passion for the blues, going on to perform and jam with musicians and bands from Scotland, England and the USA. His musical influences include blues harmonica greats such as Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers and William Clarke.

With The Shuffle Kings, Kevin focuses on the groove, energy and character of classic blues. Their sound draws particularly on West Coast blues, Texas blues and swing shuffle, with harmonica at its heart. The result is a lively, dance-friendly take on traditional blues, built for a room full of people rather than simply a listening audience. The band describes their approach as authentic blues with a “west coast texas/swing shuffle style”.

Kevin has performed extensively across Scotland and England, appearing at blues clubs and festivals and supporting established UK blues performers including Paul Lamb & The King Snakes and Stevie Nimmo. He has also worked with a wide range of musicians throughout his career, reflecting the collaborative nature of the blues scene.

A particularly important musical partnership came in 2012, when Kevin teamed up with guitarist, singer and songwriter Reece Hillis. Together they wrote original material and released the album Rising Sun in 2014, which received radio airplay in England, Belgium and the USA. Kevin and Reece’s music has continued to receive blues-radio exposure, including a feature on Nothing But The Blues in January 2026.

Whether delivering a classic blues standard, a driving shuffle or original material, Kevin Jordan & The Shuffle Kings specialise in authentic, energetic live blues with plenty of groove. Their music combines the tradition of the great blues harmonica players with the atmosphere, spontaneity and good-time spirit of a live Scottish blues band.
