I'm John Pettie, an abstract painter working in oils. I like to work on many pictures at once, starting with a general scheme and growing the compositions over time. The main drive of my process is to begin intuitively from the subconscious, but to end up with something rendered and definite. I hope to depict scenes which suggest different things to different people rather than having a pre-conceived message.
